Hi there!
Welcome back! Something I don’t think I’ve mentioned before is that, besides the Monthly Pro Coaching call, there’s also a News and Updates call every month if you’re part of the Accelerator program.
As the name suggests, this call is all about giving us the latest news and updates about what’s going on at InternetProfits 😉
And this month’s call was very exciting to me because I learned that I could try to promote something new! For the first time since months I could promote a live webinar given by Dean!
Email list
This seemed like a great opportunity to finally utilise my email list 🙂 After all, my email list was currently kind of just sitting there, gathering dust… Oops…
My email list is definitely nothing to brag about, but it is decently sized after the solo ad I did several weeks ago. I couldn’t wait to use it again!
So, I went into my AWeber account and started to write an email that would interest people and get them to sign up to the FREE LIVE webinar (hopefully).
One tip I can give you for writing emails is: don’t make them too long! Come quickly to the point if you want people to read your whole email and actually do what you want them to do 😉
I think I did alright in that regard, since around 13% of my subscribers opened my email and I learned that on average about 17% get’s opened. So not bad, but it could definitely have gone better!
Facebook post
The second thing I tried to promote the webinar was simply to post it on my personal Facebook page as well as my business Facebook page.
I could almost completely reuse the text from my email which made it even better! The only thing I had to add was a nice picture 🙂 Sounds easy enough right?
These results could definitely have been a lot better, but that just might be because I don’t have that many friends on Facebook yet who are also interested in Affiliate Marketing. I really have to get back to the Organic Facebook strategy.
If everything was perfect, you would never learn and you would never grow
Paid Facebook Ad
But I didn’t stop there! I wanted to reach more people, so I thought it would be a good idea to also try creating a paid Facebook ad for this promotion. Not only that, but I wanted to try something new with Facebook Advertising as well: creating a landing page within Facebook itself!
When you create such a landing page, your potential customers won’t even have to leave Facebook in order to “buy” your product! And the best thing is that Facebook likes that a lot better, thus lowering the costs of advertising. Amazing, right?
I have to say, it took me some time to create this Facebook ad… Not only because I was creating a landing page on Facebook for the first time (I will go into more detail about this in a future blog!), but also because it was very late in the Evening…
And when it’s very late, you make mistakes…
I was just very glad that I’d finished my ad and could finally go to bed! However, the following day, I saw that Facebook had rejected my ad because it was not compliant with the Facebook policies 🙁
In hindsight I should’ve seen this coming from a mile away, but I was definitely too tired to think about this the previous night…
However, this did teach me that you shouldn’t try to make a Facebook ad in a hurry when it’s already very late! Take your time and plan carefully, otherwise you’ll make some very unnecessary mistakes!
Hopefully you will learn from my mistake!
Maybe I’ll try to utilise a solo ad for more leads next week, because there’s going to be a second live webinar. Stay tuned to find out 😉
In the meantime, I’d love to hear what you think would be the best way to promote a LIVE webinar?
Would you use only free or paid advertising, or a little bit of both? And why?
Until next time!
Sandra
