How You Can Leverage Facebook to Get Traffic for Free

A few weeks ago, I told you about a free Facebook strategy I learned from Dean. Now that I’ve had some time to experiment with it, I thought it would be a good time to tell you more about it.

 

Free Facebook Strategy

Let me give you a short recap about what a free traffic strategy is. It’s a way to generate traffic that doesn’t cost you any money, but it does have an investment of time. This Facebook strategy is one of such strategies.

Okay, now that you’re up to speed again, let me dive into this free Facebook strategy!

The idea of this strategy is that you utilize already existing Facebook groups to find other people that are interested in your topic. In my case, making money online (with affiliate marketing).

So, you have to find Facebook groups about your topic and look for posts that offer something similar to what you’re offering. Then you want to send a friend request to the people that comment on such a post. Never post your offers in one of these groups, because you don’t want to be a spammer!

You shouldn’t try to befriend more than 20 people per day, because Facebook doesn’t really like it that much if you use it for business purposes… But making 20 friends per day already costs me around 1 hour, so making more friends would just take up too much of your time as well 😉

 

What to do once you’ve befriended someone

chatsThrough some trial and error, I found out that it’s actually best to reach out to the people who accepted your friend request as soon as possible and start a conversation. For example, ask them about why they are interested in your field and what they’re struggling with. This way you’ll make a connection with them and they’ll start to know like and trust you.

If you think you can help them in any way, always do so! Be honest. Only if you think your offer would benefit them in any way should you bring it up with them.

This isn’t the only way to get your offer out to people though. You should also post some messages on your Facebook page every once in a while (again, you don’t want to be a spammer so don’t do it too often).

For example, I offer a copy of a free book. I learned so much from this book and want other people to have that opportunity too. When they respond to my post, I send them the link to get the free book 🙂

Don’t forget to still use your Facebook as you’ve always done and post things about your everyday life! Your Facebook page should always be genuine and shouldn’t be just about your business.

 

Don’t lose hope and stick with it!

Sounds simple enough, right? But it does take up a lot of your time! You have to find new people to befriend, talk to them, and post stuff consistently. Keyword: being consistently! Because if you don’t do it consistently, it just won’t work…

If it doesn’t show results immediately, don’t worry! You can’t expect that. Have patience and just stick with it. It’ll take some time to build your friends list. But once you’ve made enough genuine connections, people will know, like and trust you and you can promote your products to help them 🙂
